AT&T's HTC One X being tested for May launch?

AT&T's HTC One X has been undergoing field tests since early last week. One of those lucky ones with the assignment has passed along his personal view of the handset along with some pictures of some benchmark tests and one snapshot from the device itself. Right off the bat, the tester says that this is one beast of a phone with an amazing screen. He says that the screen quality is "insane" and that everything runs smoothly. Based on when the field tests started, the tester expects this to launch in the middle of May and while the test unit had the Beats Audio logo on it, he was not given the headphones that come with it. As for pricing, he hadn't a clue but did say that he would pass along the word if he hears something.

The benchmark tests had some awesome results with the HTC One X and its S4 processor leading the pack and scoring an impressive 4952 on the Quadrant Benchmark test. The only negatives that were mentioned were the non-removable battery and the lack of a microSD slot. Because of the additional radio needed for LTE connectivity, the X has 16GB of native storage vs. 32GB for the European variant. A picture of the device on its back compared its size with that of the HTC Inspire 4G. The very last picture is one taken from the HTC One X's own shooter.

Many of you have already penciled in this device as your next smartphone and we don't see anything here that would change that. Doesn't sound like anyone will miss the quad-core Tegra 3 processor that's on the overseas model.
