LG Lucid 4G is official: LTE, dual-core, Android for dummies

It is official, folks! As expected, Verizon unveiled the LG Lucid 4G and will be marketing it as an easy-to-use device made with first-time smartphone owners in mind. However, that doesn't mean that the smartphone will lag far behind the competition when it comes to specs. Underneath the hood of the LG Lucid 4G we see a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and backed up by 1GB of RAM. Up front we are greeted by a gorgeous 4-inch touchscreen display protected by Gorilla Glass. A 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with flash resides on the smartphone's back and a front-facing camera for video chats is located above its screen. Android 2.3 Gingerbread comes out of the box, but an update to Android 4.0 ICS is being planned. And you know what the 4G in the device's title signifies, right? Yes, it will ride on Verizon's 4G LTE airwaves for speedy web access on the go.

But as we mentioned before, the LG Lucid 4G is supposed to be an easy-to-use device, and as such, it comes with a handful of features that can facilitate every day tasks. For example, shortcuts to various apps can be placed right on its lock screen, and a Quick Dialer widget will allow for users to call their friends and family without opening their address book. Additionally, the device comes with step-by-step tutorials for those users who are not familiar with how their smartphone can be used.

The LG Lucid 4G will be available both online and at Verizon outlets starting March 29. On contract pricing is set at $80 after a $50 mail-in rebate. For additional information, we have embedded the entire press release below.
