Samsung Galaxy Note II said to have flexible, thinner 5.5-inch AMOLED display

The Samsung Galaxy Note II will have a 5.5-inch AMOLED display which will be thinner and hold your breaths... flexible. The device is expected to get officially announced on August 29th, but the Korea IT Times claims it already knows those details about the second generation Galaxy Note. That’s still largely an unconfirmed rumor, so we take it with a grain of salt, despite it coming from what looks like a reliable source.

A flexible display however doesn’t mean a flexible or bendable phone. It takes a lot more than just the display to have the whole device bend, but some kind of a curve a la Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S is a possibility.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will use an Unbreakable Plane (UBP) and a plastic substrate that will make it 0.4mm thinner. This would allow for a larger batter without the device being thicker.

With such features the Galaxy Note 2 will definitely capture a lot of hearts at the IFA show in Berlin where we hope to see it. Stay tuned.
